Two watches, two distinctive dials, and cases in two original materials – the Radiomir Viaggio Nel Tempo Experience Set is the first set available in the Panerai Replica Experience program.
Panerai enthusiasts are well aware of the Panerai Experience slogan. This special program, launched in 2019, allows collectors to immerse themselves even more deeply in the world of the brand. What does it involve? By purchasing a watch from the limited edition Experience Edition, customers receive a bonus opportunity to participate in an extraordinary event from one of three categories: adventure, military, or Italian culture and history. Previously, owners of watches from this series could, among other things, travel to the North Pole with an ambassador, receive training from the Italian Navy, sail on the historic sailing ship Eileen off the coast of Sicily, or experience the culture of southern Italy.
Now, with the purchase of the exclusive Radiomir Viaggio Nel Tempo Experience Set (for the first time in the program’s history, the edition includes more than one watch), they receive a trip to Italy. From September 15th to 18th, a three-day event will be held under the slogan “viaggio nel tempo,” meaning a journey through time.
No, Panerai hasn’t invented the time machine yet, and this slogan encompasses a visit to places of historical significance to the brand. “Viaggio nel tempo” will begin with a visit to the Panerai boutique in Piazza di San Giovanni in Florence, which is celebrating its centenary this year. The group will then visit the historic scuba diving training centers of the Marina Militare Italiana in Le Grazie, just outside Portovenere. From there, they will embark on a luxury yacht cruise along the Ligurian coast.
All this comes with the purchase of an exclusive set consisting of two versions of the Radiomir model, which is available in a limited edition of 30 pieces. Both watches are housed in large 47mm diameter cases with water resistance to 100m, but that’s where their similarities end.
The first, the Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience PAM01729, has a case crafted from bronze in a warm, red-gold hue. Due to the characteristic patina of this alloy, the caseback is made of titanium. This historical inspiration is evident not only in the cushion-shaped case but also in details such as the conical crown, wire lugs, and California dial.
The grained black dial is surrounded by a traditional, track-style minute track, divided by indices at 3 and 9 o’clock. Above are Roman numerals, and below are Arabic numerals. There is also an inverted triangle at 12 o’clock, an unusual index at 6 o’clock, and two blue hands, which, like all the numerals and indices, are coated with a beige luminescent material. The convex plexiglass and the strap, crafted from raw, dark brown leather and embellished with light stitching, also evoke the timepiece’s history. The hours and minutes are displayed by the hand-wound P.3000 caliber, visible under the transparent caseback, which boasts a three-day power reserve.
