The distinctive rectangular case of the Tank Americaine model, reimagined, showcases an elegant dial designed in the geometric aesthetic of Art Deco.

The Cartier Replica Tank is undoubtedly one of those watch models that has earned its status as a true, undisputed icon over the years. This is undoubtedly due to many factors, but the most significant is its unique, timeless form. Simple yet elegant, geometric, yet exuding class and an almost artistic flair. The form of the classic Tank is also surprisingly malleable, a feature the manufacturer expresses through numerous variations of the model. One of these is the Tank Americaine, introduced in 1988.

Its case showcases the classic Tank, stretched vertically and curved to follow the shape of the wrist. In this latest version, created specifically for European markets, the watch combines precious case materials with a distinctively styled dial.

The 44.4 x 24.4 mm case is crafted from platinum, finished with polished and satin finishes. An angular crown with a red ruby ​​cabochon, reminiscent of the case material, sits on its right side.

Beneath the rectangular sapphire crystal, Cartier has placed a dial decorated with geometric patterns, in keeping with the brand’s signature Art Deco style. The dial’s color scheme alternates between navy blue and light blue. Selected elements are further emphasized by vertical and horizontal lines, and the display is complemented only by a pair of large Roman numeral indices. Time, reduced to the basic hours and minutes, is displayed by two sharply pointed, polished hands.

Powered by the automatic caliber 1899 MC, it features convenient self-winding and a rather modest 39-hour power reserve.

Availability and Price

The Cartier Tank Américaine is definitely aimed at connoisseurs of the brand – and a rather narrow group at that. Only 120 pieces will be produced, each paired with a navy blue alligator leather strap. Each is expected to retail for around 130,000 PLN.
